SnapNPlay music App Reviews

Feature request

Theres just one feature I wish this app had. I really wish it would recognize a music note just once. I havent seen any evidence that its even trying. If it would at least work really poorly, it would be an upgrade.

Lots of potential

This could be a great app some day. The idea has tons of potential. Currently the OCR simply doesnt work well enough to be useful to me, and the interface for capturing snapshots and correcting the OCR errors is extremely cumbersome and unforgiving, requiring several taps and drags at tiny fiddly targets. The patches currently used for playback sound shrill and unpleasant to my ears.

Maybe one day

As it stands right now, this app is of little use to me. It recognizes almost every marking as a note, and editing afterwords is a pain. It is a great concept and on some of the tests I ran it correctly identified all the pitches but was inconsistent at best. With a little updating of the recognition software this could be a great tool.

楽譜取り込めません can not snap !

楽譜取り込むためにカメラボタンをタップすると落ちます。星ゼロのまったく使えんアプリでがっかりです!有料なのが信じられません。開発者に問い合わせてもレス無しです。Be careful!! Tapping the camera button causes appli shut down and you can not snap the music score. Unbelievable Useless appli !

Terrible

You guys released this app waaaay too early. The screen size is way to small for the iPad. Its as if you guys just directly ported the iPhone version over. Doesnt work as promised. I was taking clear pictures in bright lighting and the app was still unable to recognize notes. Not to mention, it doesnt even see whole notes or half notes. Most of the time I had to type in the intended note. If I wanted to do that I wouldve just picked up a scoring app. For 3.99 this app needed to be much better. Currently a waste of money. Hoping that with updates, this app could live up to its full potential.

Great Program!

I used this app to help my son prepare for a middle school band audition. Unfortunately, Im not a good enough musician to play the pieces correctly myself: enter SnapNPlay! By getting the song in his head, he was able to practice more confidently. As with any OCR program, the results are very dependent on both the quality of the picture and the clarity of the sheet music. Although I had to make a few corrections, I was impressed with how well the OCR worked. Thanks Jason!

Great and will improve

So, if youre like me. You didnt get much info about this app from the description ... I just HOPED this would be the one app I have been looking for to EASILY fill in the alto notes I forget to learn in choir practice.. Well, it is. Let me tell you what I discovered about this great little app. Its charming and It works. It needs improvement, at this point. (ie snaps should be able to be put together manually by the user as a full sheet music piece and exported in midi. Also, Id like to see the photo taker be improved so that the whole screen is a button for taking the shot...not just a dot in the corner. That would help us get the best shots...and a way to manually refocus the camera. Access to the iPad/iPhone pic folder would help a great deal since other scanning apps could improve the snap quality )... Other than that its great!!!!! Now, lets talk about what this app DOES. I am using an iPad 4... The app detected 75 percent of my notes accurately (that helps ppl! I didnt have to start from scratch!!) and I found the editor to fill in/fix the rest to be quite simple and very well thought out. iPhone with flash gave even better results. I can now learn my alto line for sections of choir music I need to go over. Yay! Is this app worth buying as of right now. Of course. It is helpful, charming and has no competition in its field.. Trust me, Ive looked for months! Can it be improved? Yes,.... And I expect it will be.. even now its becoming a favorite app of mine! :). Bravo developers!! Keep up the good work :) :)

Worthless

Tried it out in my sons basic music book. Would not ever play back the music. It recognized the notes okay (took some editing) but once I played the music, it ever just played one note. Waste of $4.00

Yes! What I was looking for. Thanks...

Good implementation. This is perfect for my experimental tastes and perfect for my need to gain a hands on familiarity with music notation, composition, and editing. A few bugs and lags exist.

Doesnt work

This was a waste followed all of the instructions. Took the photo of basic music and it didnt recognize a single note. Tried at least ten times. I want my $4 back.

Pretty Good!

This app helps a person like me hear the music before i play it! It is NOT 100% perfect because it makes a few mistakes that you have to manually fix. Sometimes pointing the camera at an angle rather than straight on helps the camera get focused and accurate. PROS: -Ability to transpose music -Ability to adjust tempo -5 instruments -Ability to edit notes -Group sheet music in albums -Saves sheet music photos within the program CONS: -Occasional mistakes of notes -Cant stitch sheet music photos together -Sheet music thumbnails are small. Difficult to distinguish which one I want to hear -Overall appearance of the app could be better

worthless

I read some negative reviews and thought it couldnt be that bad. IT IS. Stay away!

Good enough app, but bad fingerings

It also has fingerings, but doesnt recognize when you should stay in a higher position, so never shows notes above first position on lower strings for violin. For instance, if Im in third position and want to play a g, it will show the g as the second finger on the e string in first instead of fourth on the a in third.

Doesnt work

Cant recognize even simple music. Misses most notes and adds notes that arent there.

Doesnt work

It thought rests were notes and time signatures were chords. Dont buy this.

Does not actually sound on iPhone6

Even demo from YouTube was muted. Refund!

Waste of money! Needs improvements desperately!

I was looking for a simple app that could play a song on the piano sheet music. Failed miserably and notes were inaccurate.

STOP!

App is worthless. Doesnt identify a single note!

Robbed

I have spent an hour trying to get this to work like the video. No luck.

Dont get this app

This is a fraud it does not work I just wasted $4 for nothing
